The European Voluntary Service (EVS)

What is it ?

EVS is a program for young people between 18 and 30 years old. It belongs to Erasmus+ program in order to make you:

- Discover a new country

- Discover a new culture
- Improve a foreign language
- Improve professional skills
- Learn more about Europe
- Meet other european volunteers from many countries !
- Etc...

How long does it last ?

It could last between 2 and 12 months

What kind of project could I apply ?

It depends on what you are looking for because all the projects are different !!

For exemple, you could work:

- In a school to run a foreign language club

- In a museum as a guide
- In an organisation which helps migrants
- In a health center
- Etc...

How to join this adventure ?

You can go directly to the European Youth Portal website:

https://europa.eu/youth/volunteering_es

There, you just have to add all the information about:

- Your country

- In which country you would like to go
- When
- Etc...

Once you have found an intersting project, you just have to apply for the EVS (send a CV and a motivation letter) and wait for a skype meeting with the organisation which created this project.

Do I need specific qualifications or degrees to participate ?

It depends on the project. Usually, the organisations are just looking for really motivated volunteers !! If you don't speak the language of the country where you want to go, it's not so important because you will learn there with local people. It's better if you speak English because you will be able at least to communicate with the other european volunteers.

You will be just a volunteer not a worker (the difference is really important).

Where can I get more information ?

- Intercambia Youth Organisation (Malaga): http://europaerestu.eu/

- From volunteers in your school: Jenny and Marion (Aula 47)
- From Erasmus coordinator : Salvador
- From the National Agency of Malaga

Here is a video of our formation in Sevilla last week with other european volunteers from Andalucia.
