What is it exactly ?
Something that is created with imagination and skill and that is beautiful or that expresses important ideas or feelings.
Many kind of arts exist: music, dance, drawing, etc.
We decided to talk to you about 3 famous painters:
Banksy
An anonymous British street artist commited to many topics like politic, war or ecology. Usually we can admire his grafitis in high visibility public areas like: train station or buildings.
Frida Kahlo
A Mexican painter famous for her vibrant colours and dramatic symbolism. In 1925 she was badly injured in a traffic accident and was in hospital for months. She started painting many self-portraits at that time. She was one of the most talended woman painters of the 20th century and her success is an inspiration to woman artists everywhere.
Vincent Van Gogh
A Dutch post-impressionist painter without success when he was alive. His art became famous in the 20th century and now people describe him as an important but tragic painter who represents the romantic ideal of a tortured artist.
Here you will find our PowerPoint and then few photos about the activity we did with the students.
Three of them had the task to describe to their classmates one famous painting of Banksy, Kahlo or Van Gogh. Thanks to this description, the other students had to draw it. It wasn't an easy task without seeing the painting but the results were really funny and sometimes impressive !
